I forwarded to you a letter, addressed to me as Collector of Stamp Revenue by the Chief Manager of the National Bank of China Ltd., stating that his Bank intended to issue notes to the extent of £50,000, for which action due authority had been taken; and enquiring as to the amount which would have to be paid as duty.
